Santos de Cartier is the house's first men's fragrance, a 1981 eau de toilette composed by Daniel Moliere. Lavender, basil, juniper berries, lemon verbena, bergamot, galbanum and neroli open the scent with a green, aromatic charge. The heart is spiced and herbal — pepper, nutmeg, cloves and clary sage over vetiver, rosemary and geranium. The base is warm and unexpected: sandalwood, amber, patchouli, cedar and vanilla with a creamy touch of coconut. The overall character is bold and classic, a true eighties masculine with presence. Santos suits evenings and cooler weather, when its spicy warmth carries. A landmark oriental woody from the house of Cartier.
