Emeraude by Coty is a landmark women's oriental fragrance, created by François Coty and launched in 1921. Despite the word 'Perfume' in its title, the version sold today is an Eau de Cologne.
The opening is a bright citrus trio of bergamot, lemon, and orange. The middle blooms with Brazilian rosewood, ylang-ylang, jasmine, and rose, giving it a warm floral richness. A deep oriental base of benzoin, opoponax, vanilla, amber, sandalwood, and patchouli carries the dry-down into a powdery, resinous warmth. Over a century old and still in production, Emeraude remains one of the defining orientals of its era.
