Magnetism by Escada is a 2003 eau de parfum for women that pairs juicy fruit with a warm Oriental Vanilla base. The first impression comes from red berries, black currant, cassia, litchi, pineapple and melon — a sparkling, tropical-tart opening. Green leaves and basil keep the fruity top from turning syrupy, adding a fresh, leafy counterpoint. As the opening lifts, the composition blooms into a lavish floral bouquet of almond blossom, iris, freesia, heliotrope, jasmine, magnolia, rose, caraway and lily-of-the-valley. Caramel and vanilla then take over the dry-down, wrapping the florals in creamy sweetness. Patchouli, benzoin, sandalwood, musk, amber and vetiver add depth and a soft, resinous warmth beneath the sweetness. A sweet, indulgent composition made for evenings and cooler weather.
