Shalimar Eau de Cologne by Guerlain is Jacques Guerlain's 1925 classic in its lightest concentration, composed for women. Bergamot, lemon, mandarin orange, and cedar open the scent with a bright, citrus freshness. Iris, vetiver, patchouli, jasmine, and rose form a powdery floral heart beneath the citrus. The base softens into leather, vanilla, incense, opoponax, benzoin, sandalwood, civet, Peru balsam, and musk, but in this reduced concentration it reads sheer and graceful. This is Shalimar at its most transparent — the same amber signature, worn lightly.
