Histoire d'Amour by Aubusson is a woody-chypre Eau de Toilette for women — the 1984 original, distinct from its Cherie and 2 flankers. The 'Perfume' in the title is naming, not concentration: this is an EDT.
Mandarin, osmanthus, basil and bergamot open green, sparkling and herbal. A bouquet of orange blossom, galbanum, ylang-ylang, rose, narcissus and jasmine follows, lush with a green, resinous bite. Patchouli, musk and oakmoss anchor the drydown in true chypre style — earthy, dry and unmistakably classic.
