Black XS by Paco Rabanne is a men's Eau de Toilette launched in 2005 as a rock-edged take on the XS line, though the catalog calls it a cologne. The true concentration here is Eau de Toilette. It opens with Calabrian lemon, calamond citrus, tagete and sage, a zesty-herbal spark. The heart turns warm and gourmand with cinnamon, tolu balm, black cardamom and praline. Rosewood, patchouli, black amber and ebony form a dark woody base. Composed by Olivier Cresp and Rosendo Mateu, the fragrance balances brightness with a dark, brooding sweetness. A sharper, moodier sibling to the original XS rather than a remake of it.
