Paul Sebastian Design is a women's fine parfum first launched in 1985, a lush floral built on an abundance of white flowers.
Mandarin and tangerine open with a bright citrus spark, joined by cyclamen, fresh green notes and herbs that keep the opening crisp rather than sweet.
The heart is where the fragrance shows its hand: jasmine, tuberose, ylang-ylang and orange blossom mingle with lily of the valley, lilac and neroli, lifted by a sheer veil of aldehydes.
Violet, cedarwood, vetiver and oakmoss give the dry-down structure, while amber, labdanum and musk leave a warm, softly powdery finish.
It is a distinctly eighties composition, generous and confident, best suited to evening wear and the cooler months.
Not to be confused with the men's Design for Men released a decade later, this is Paul Sebastian's original women's fragrance, sold as the house's Fine Parfum Spray.
