Y by Yves Saint Laurent is a men's woody aromatic Eau de Toilette from 2017, composed by Dominique Ropion and listed here as a cologne. The true concentration is Eau de Toilette. The first impression is a cool fizz of aldehydes over bergamot, ginger, mint and lemon. Violet leaf and geranium meet apple, sage and pineapple in the middle, giving it a green, aromatic lift. The closing phase leans on ambergris and musk softened by cedar, balsam fir, incense and vetiver. This is the bright, mineral-fresh entry point of the Y wardrobe, lighter in feel than the EDP and Le Parfum flankers. A clean woody aromatic with a distinctly modern cut.
